Sharing Ideas for a Meaningful Conference on the Future of Europe
On Thursday, 4 March, the European Movement International held a digital panel discussion which focused on Sharing Ideas for a Meaningful Conference on the Future of Europe.
The Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE) has been put forward as an opportunity to address some of the main challenges of our time and take stock of the state of the European Union. The Conference offers a platform for EU institutions to listen to the citizens’ views and work together in a joint effort with civil society to achieve a more efficient and democratic European Union.
This event was the opportunity for esteemed Members of the European Parliament to set out their ideas for shaping the Conference on the Future of Europe. Discussions focused on the concept, structure, scope and timing of the Conference on the Future of Europe, as well as explored its jointly agreed principles and objectives. The panel also shared their thoughts on the expected role and contribution of civil society organisations in shaping the debate.
Featuring:
Danuta Maria Hübner, Member of the European Parliament | European People’s Party (EPP)
Domènec Ruiz Devesa, Member of the European Parliament | Socialists and Democrats (S&D)
